Pinckney Instrumental Music Boosters

This group supports our school music programs and over 600 families in the area. Music education is an important part of a well rounded school experience. Some of our Band Uniforms are over 25 years old, with a 10 year life span they have been worn for too long. These rodeo funds will go to help buy new uniforms. Pinckney Music Programs are award winning for our division and include regular concert band, jazz band, orchestra, fiddle performing group and more.

Friends of the Lakeland Trail – The Lakeland Trail is the common asset that links our area into one geographical piece. Travelling from Hamburg and all the way to Jackson someday, walkers, runners, joggers, horse people, bicyclists all use this beautiful trail for leisure, fitness and relaxation. The trail is in need of improvements and maintenance.

Michigan Mackinac Island Honor Guard – Each year ten girls are chosen from among hundreds for the honor of working on Mackinac Island helping with beautification, manning tourist posts and informational posts and helping to teach leadership and state patriotism and knowledge to our youth. This year the rodeo funds will help to defray the costs of special uniforms and travel expenses for these special girls.

Also new this year:

Boy Scout Parking Attendence – Boy Scout Troop 312 will man and profit from the Rodeo Parking this year.

Pinckney Senior Citizens – will man and profit from our Rodeo Souvenir Booth

Pinckney/Lakeland/Hamburg Girl Scout Service Unit will again man and organize our Children’s Carnival, FREE AT THE RODEO GROUNDS THE DAY OF THE EVENT.

Pinckney Trail Riders will be receiving 20 free youth tickets to distribute to inner city and under privileged youth so they can enjoy the rodeo and begin to learn about animals and rural activities.

The 2007 Rodeo Committee is proud to be able to disburse $8000 to the PLH Service Unit of our Local Girl Scouts as well as $1250 each for the Lakeland Trail group and the PYRAT group.

The Girl Scouts plan to use the funds for Camping gear, American Flags, First Aid kits and more.

PYRAT will hold Pathfinder Survivor – an after school event that helps seventh and eighth graders learn team building and cooperation.

Friends of the Lakeland Trail will use the funds for trail maintenance and to support the implementation of the Safe Way to Schools Program.
